TV Pilot: 'Mock Around the Clock'
Unproduced TV pilot for a weekly supernatural series. David Delaney is meandering through life as Guy
Least Likely to Achieve Anything, when he gets a disturbing call. It's from his high school sweeheart,
Andrea, someone who left his life—or was taken from it—a long time ago. She's desperate, no-one else to
call. Her ex-husband has disappeared. Her ex-husband just happens to be David's brother, Max. David goes
back to New Orleans for the first time in many years, to search for his brother. He already knows Max ran
a detective agency—that was the kind of cool thing Max "Most Likely" Delaney did. David thought his
brother worked at night because New Orleans is a city that never sleeps. As he soon learns, he was
only right up to a point . . . He discovers the agency catered to a very specific clientele. Things
from the dark side, the creatures and beings most people believe to be imaginary—monsters, myths
and legends—exiled to our nightmares because if we believed they existed, we'd want to destroy
them. These creatures relied on Max to work for them—to do the things they couldn't do, or manage
on their own: to maintain the balance. Max was part-investigator, part-fixer, part-Protector. There's
a quid pro quo going on with the night shades and, with Max now disappeared, David has a new job to do. He never planned for this. But he
has a missing brother to find and a strange new career in a new town—one that's going to change his life in ways he never dreamed or imagined . . .
