The only other times that the World Fantasy Convention has moved outside North America was in 1988 and 1997, when the event was held in London. Now it has returned to the UK after sixteen years and to the historic city of Brighton on the East Sussex coast. Over the Hallowe'en weekend we aim to hold a convention that is to a standard set by the very best of these events in the past. To that end, we have produced what we would like to think of as the finest Souvenir Book ever created for a World Fantasy Convention. Reflecting our themes of "The Next Generation" and "Arthur Machen @ 150", Flotsam Fantastique collects together articles by and about all our varied and esteemed Guests of Honour, along with fiction, art and photographic portfolios, and other pieces that we hope you will find both informative and entertaining—including an anthology of stories based around gatherings such as this. With a print-run strictly limited to members of this year's event, this is a book that you are sure to want to keep as a memento and record of when the 39th World Fantasy Convention came to the British seaside . . .
