Sanctuary Visual Entertainment has released David Cronenberg's acclaimed
1983 psychological thriller THE DEAD ZONE on DVD.
Based on the novel by Stephen King,
this uncut version of the film includes the complete "scissors suicide" scene
and such special features as 24-page insert booklet featuring articles and a
filmography by STEPHEN JONES and an audio commentary by JONES and KIM NEWMAN.
"If there's one thing that's becoming
apparent, it's that most directors deliver lousy commentaries. So, what we have
here is a chat between Stephen Jones, author of "The Illustrated Stephen King
Movie Guide", and Kim Newman, film critic and Cronenberg expert. Both come loaded
with information that's imparted in an easy-going and often humorous conversation."
